Montreal's Carifete 2009 : Headed into town to catch the Montreal Carifete parade on July 4, 2009. Besides the parade started an hour and a half later than mentioned in the paper, it also rained. Because of the weather and other commitments later that day, I didn't get to stay for the entire parade. (Maybe next year). But I did manage to see some wonderful costumes.

Walkabout Parc Mont Royal - 3 October 2006 : Took a vacation day with the intention of going up to the Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery to photograph the statues. While up on the mountain, I also visited the Mont Royal park, especially near Beaver Lake. The day was very overcast. But some of the leaves were starting to change. The ducks and gulls were happy to pose for you if you didn't get too close. So it was a very pretty scene.

Walkabout Notre Dame des Neiges Cemetery - 3 October 2006 : Took a vacation day with the intention of going up to the cemetery to photograph the statues. The day started out raining. And when the rain stopped, the sun never came out. But the muted, grayish light seemed to lend itself to the overall mood of the place. After statues of Christ, Mary and various saints, Angels, weeping ladies and maidens were in abundance.
